For HBO’s marketing campaign for The Forever Prisoner, I created a series of graphics inspired by the film’s exploration of declassified documents and hidden government records related to the case of Abu Zubeydah, seen as patient zero for the CIA’s torture program during the war on terror. The design process centered on using the visual language of redacted files, archival materials, and classified evidence to create a stark and distressed look for the graphics. Through the contrast of obscured and revealed information, the graphics reflect the film’s themes of secrecy and uncovering difficult truths.
